Trouble with Remote desktop login

By strom ·

I've got a small bussiness network of 7 computer and 2 servers running XP and Win2003 on them.

A few of the users are to be able to login using remote desktop. All users have local profiles that can logon to the domain. When I try to login using the domain accounts with remote desktop i get the message: Not allowed to login interacively.
It is possible however to connect to the workstation using a local account that is not connected to the domain.

It's also not possible to add a domain account in the remote desktop users group on the specific computer....

This is how I have been doing it for 4 years

This is how I do remote server to my office and branch users. On a windows 2000 server I have a drive mapped to the main file server. I have the user set up on the domain ... for access to the files as well as a local account set up on the window 2000 server. This works fine for everyone.
I agree that if would be nice to only have the accoounts setup on the domain... but I have not been able to make this work.... and frankly so far it has not been worth the trouble. I only have 30 users on remote access.

Good luck!
