Environment: Winnt 4.0, sp6a, VPN over internet, name resolution works fine, routing works fine, Trust relationship established between A and B successfully.
Problem: Domain A can access all resources in Domain B; Domain A can assign users and groups from Domain B permissions on shares in Domain A; Domain A can consistently browse Domain B in ‘hood. BUT, Domain B cannot perform any of these. whenever Domain B tires to view Domain A in the ‘hood, it gets a domain is not accessible error; whenDomain B tries to give users/groups from Domain A permissions on its shares, it receives “RPC call could not be completed” error. Although, Domain B can use the “find computer” command and Net View command to view servers/computers in Domain A, it cannot view all the servers – three that cannot be viewed are 1 PDC and 2 BDC; another server that is a BDC can be viewd).
troubleshooting: Domain A has successfully established a Trust relationship with another domain (Domain C) since this problemwas discovered with Domain B. there are no problems of what-so-ever, between Domain A and Domain C. the only difference with the trust between Domain A and Domain C and that of Domain A and Domain B is the link … Domain A and Domain C are directlyliked via FR.
