I recently bought an HP notebook (dv6235nr) (Core 2 Duo Intel). It has Windows Vista on it… only
to find out that my business applications (Medisoft) are not compatible with Vista. I
bought a new blank hard drive, the exact same model (Fujitsu MHV2120BH), installed it, then tried to install a new OEM version of Windows XP Professional. After running the initial menu, detecting the current settings, it says press “ENTER” to install….then it says “No hard disk drive detected”…(I also tried a Hitachi HD…same thing) then I placed the Fujitsu in an external enclosure/USB… and the install feature
of Win XPP became an unhighlighted option (when
Vista was running on the other HD).
