Trying To Start in IT

By rockinmycountry ·
So, I am getting ready to graduate with my BS in a degree not IT related, but I have taken IT courses and will be getting both my A+ and N+ certs within the next six months (before I graduate). What I want to know is this, how can I get a job? I have looked on all the major job search sites and everyone says that you need a IT degree or 2+ years experience in the field. All I want to know is where do I start, what is the bottom rung, where messing around on your home PC and having a 4year + certs is enough.

The bottom rung

Is generally Help Desk/End User Support. A+ cert preps you to do just that, Metwork+ would be a bonus for a level 1 help desk technician. So, look for Level 1 Help Desk positions and don't be afraid to work through recruiters (K-Force, Tek-Systems, Robert Half Technologies) etc.
