I recently purchased a $1.99 webcam off of Amazon (shocking, I know.) and so far it works fine. However, I noticed on the lens it mentions something about a “10x optical zoom,” although I haven’t been able to find anything in driver settings that gives me access to that zoom.
I have no idea what brand this thing is, but the Camera application has named it “Lenovo EasyCamera,” so it’s probably a stupidly cheap resale. I’m pretty sure this product also came in from Hong Kong.
I’m sure the camera has been stripped down quite a bit considering its price, so the zoom probably isn’t easily accessible, but what can I do to make sure it isn’t?
