turn off XP pop-ups

Is there anyway in Windows XP to turn off those stupid pop-ups in the lower right corner. These are the ones always prompting you to subscribe to MSN, clean your desktop, etc. I’ve got 20 new XP machines in a school computer lab, and the students are tired of wasting time by answering NO to the same dumb questions everyday.
