Turn virgin hub 5 to modem mode – then which router would be best?

    by jcfbsos ·

I have a virgin media hub 5. (350mbps supposedly) There are 6 wired PCs but lots of wifi devices, mainly google assistants and sonoff relays, etc. The wifi kept glitching so I installed 4 ubiquiti access points and turned off router wifi. My question is would the network be better if I switch the router to modem mode, then buy a good router. If so which router? Would something like a Juniper Networks SRX100 be sufficient or do I need something more expensive? Thanks to anybody who can advise.

      To determine best

You’ll have to test. After decades of networking from writing router code to just buying gear I continue to have to replace gear that on paper and in reviews should been great.

-> But as to best, I can’t guess what you mean by best here. My best includes support for WiFi 6. Does yours?

If your setup is working, stop fixing it.
