Turning off the .MDI save feature in Oddice 2003 Document imaging

All,

I have heard rumors of a way to turn off MS Document imaging from saving files in the .mdi format. I have been searching the web and have not found it yet. Our local museum is scanning pictures and wan’ts an easy way to save as tiff and not hacing to do a save as to get to it.
