I installed twaek UI and must have accidently unclicked a box . I no longer have access to control panel and it also does not appear when settings is selected. I also cannot not access tweak ui either or my cookies files. I get the following message"this operation haas been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer . Please contact your system administrator" I have a Dell 700cx desktop computer at home and I am using windows ME.
how do I undo tweak ui without having to reformatmy hard drive ?

Click Start, Run and type regedit. This is the Registry Editor, it has a Windows Explorer type interface.

Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer.

In the right hand panel, look for a key with the name NoControlPanel. Double-click on it and chnage the value data to 0 (zero). Close regedit.

That should do it. I'm not sure if you'll need to restart or not.

If the registry isn't your cup of tea, try Start | Find | Files or Folders and search for *.cpl Double-click TweakUI.cpl and Tweak should open so you can hunt for whatever errant checkbox is keeping you out.

I hate getting '...see your systemadministrator...' messages - I AM the system administrator!!

Happy Hunting!
