Two hard drives, one PC, separate functi

By SIGRA42 ·
How connect two hard drives on one PC to -
1.) Use one of each but not at same time for Internet work; the other disconnected?
2.) Use both at same time (all partitions) to copy data etc.?

It’s possible by a switch like two PC or two monitors or some program?

2 methods come to mind:

Use a "hot swap" bay connected as the primary master drive.
You will need 2 drive trays.

Install the drive you wish to use, and boot up.

The other drive can be locked away for safe keeping.

Or, use the Trios harddrive switch.
The last time I looked, Tiger Direct still sold these.
You hook up your drives, and select which drive to use from a front panel switch mounted in a drive bay.

Go buy a copy of partition magic. It comes with bootmagic which will allow you to boot to mulitple OS's or drives without having to physically swap them out. As long as they both run compatible file tables you'll be able to see both drives simultaneously.

Or just change the boot sequence in the BIOS.
