Typo costs quarter-billion dollars

If you ever wondered how much one typo can cost, take a look at this story about a Japanese brokerage house:

They’ve lost almost a quarter of a billion dollars so far off one little typo. And it’s not the kind of typo that spell-checker software would have caught.

I know I’m going to be much more cautious whenever I do my online banking 🙂
