Ubuntu 9.10 Synaptic Manager should not be removed!

By suspect76 ·
The whole idea of having an Open Source Operating System is having flexibility. If Ubuntu Developers remove Synaptic it will defeat the whole person of Open Source and having control of your OS. Even if you plan to remove it please allow us to install from the Software Center. This way we always have a choice!

I also prefer add/remove to software center seems more familiar and easier to search. It also seemed easier to configure.

Why would they remove synaptic from the repos?

My favorite dpkg front-end, Aptitude, is still in the repositories, and on Synaptic is at least as useful (for people using the GUI).
