I have a user who has windows 98, a scsi card connected to a 2400S UMAX scanner. All of the necessary software as been loaded and all of the twain drivers. Her scanner is reconized by windows, as she can scan pictures, test, etc. However, inside MS Word there is an “Insert – Picture – From Scanner”. When she does this, windows looks for a scanner on SCSI device 0 … then SCSI device 1 (I think that is how it is numbered) only to come back and say no SCSI scanner found. I called Umax – they had me uninstall and reinstall a bunch of drivers and software – only to end up back where I started from. Any ideas?
