The number of "undos" is only restriced by sytem resources. You can turn undo off, but you can't set a certain number. By default Word handles 200 to 300 undo actions

It is possible to undo 5 actions in Word. You just have to press a little arrow pointing down beside a usual undo button on a toolbar.

However, there is no possibility in Word to make it undo 5 actions by default. If you still want this functionality, try to make use of the macro code you'll find below.

Don't know how to make use of it?
Go to Tools -> Macro -> Macros... -> type in a Macro name -> Create (a VB Editor opens) -> into what has opened paste the following:

' Macro made by Mantvydas Dubinskas
'
On Error Resume Next
If ActiveDocument.Undo(5) = False Then _
StatusBar = "Undo 5 was unsuccessful"
' End of macro, don't paste any further

-> press Save -> Exit VB Editor.

In order to make a button executing to what you have just created:
Go to Tools -> Customize -> Commands tab -> choose Macros from Categories -> choose Project.YourMacroName.YourMacroName and drag it onto a toolbar where all your office buttons reside -> Customize a button by using options found when rightclicking on the button -> Press ok for a Customize Dialog Box.

Phew... I think I haven't missed anything. I think this is worth more than 50 points. If I get rejected then at least write why, please.

Dear Mantvis,
I appreciate your help. But it is not what I have asked for. Your solution allows me to UN DO 5 actions in onr mouse click but my requirement is to un do each action one by one. I could not undo more than 5 actions. I want to increasethis number. I will be really thankful to you if you can give me some solution for this.

Word will allow you to make as many UnDo's as you need. You can do a Ctrl+Z on your keyboard to do this, too. You just keep hitting Ctrl+Z and it backs you through all of your actions.

You can also use the UnDo icon, which is on the Standard toolbar, and is a blue arrow that curves to the left. You can repeatedly click on this to back you through each step as well. You must, of course, have performed at least five actions to have five UnDo's available to you. You may also click on the tiny black downward-pointing arrow to get a list of your actions and choose the exact place where you want to return.

Are you trying to undo actions that you performed in a document that you subsequently saved and closed? If so, unfortunately, the UnDo command will not help you.
