Unable to access DHCP backup folder

By rbroder ·
Investigating the system error log of DHCP backup errors, I discovered that the c:\WinNt\system32\dhcp\backup\jet\old folder cannot be accessed, renamed, deleted, etc. by the admin user. It also has no list owner. I think this is the reason for the errors in the log. Does anyone know how to remove this folder? Do I need to replace it, or will the Jet Backup automatically create it?

You will need to stop the DHCP service in order to access the folder as DHCP will lock it exclusively. I would strongly suggest backing up the DHCP database before stopping and removing this folder incase DHCP needs it and then throws a wobbler if you remove it - also rename it or copy it out rather than delete it.
