Unable to change password

By ntrimmer ·
I have an NT/2k domain. I have a policy set so user passwords expire every 30 days. I have one new user who is unable to change his password. It says you do not have permission to change your password. How can I make it so this user can change his password?

Unable to change password

Under the users profile (programs, adminstrative tools, user manager) Click on the user name and user properties. The box that says user cannot change password should be unchecked. Also, under account policy, look to see what boxes are checked. (account lockout should NOT be checked). Also, at the bottom of this page, I wouldn't check the box that says User must Logon in order to change password. Hope that helps?

In my experience, it usually the user who is having technical difficuties. Have you personally tried to reset the users password for him/her and then force them to change the password on next logon.
