Unable to detect DVD recorder

I have a NEC Nd3520Aw dvd recorder and a TDK dvd reader on my new computer. I transferred them form my old computer to the new one. Byt after u transferred them over and install Nero DVD recording software, the software doesn't seem to recongnise both roms as recorder. Why?

The most likely cause is that you have an OEM version of NERO. These versions that come with a burner, are usually configured to only recognize the specific burner it came with.

which nero for which drive?

Hey Lowlands (or anyone else..)
I have a zillion copies of the oem neros and a bunch of drives which were bundled with the neros. Is there a way to id which nero copy belongs with which drive?

Lowlands is right, but there is free cd and dvd burning software that you can use. Or hop over to Ebay and pick up another copy of Nero. First your dvd writer should also play dvd's try removing the player and reinstalling Nero.
