I am trying to solve a friends computer probs. He had a virus-worm and removed it(unknown name)
His DDR broke, so he tried replacing it with a CD-R it ran fine for a bit He tried adding a CD-RW as well and computer stopped working, he tried variouse connections and even pulled his computer completly apart. He took his hard drive to a friends computer and formated it. Put back in his Computer and – nothing, power turns on but on POST no beeps, no nothing. Someone suggested he flash the BIOS as well I think. Unfortuatly the information is sketchy as he doesnt speak English well, and I dont speak his language. His fan is certainly needing replacment keeps stopping and starting and 3 compasitors on the motherboard appear blown. He has a Pentium 4, 1.7, running win XP. Computer and manual is also non-english.
Would really appreciate any ideas, sorry for the limited info.
