Unable to install Office 97

I just got a new computer with Windows XP home edition. I have tried to load Office 97 Professional and have been unable to, it locks up after about 4% completed. I have tried compatibility mode using Win 95, 98, 2000 and NT as well as just trying to load it straight in through XP but it is doing the same thing. Just to make sure it isn’t the disk, I reinstalled it on my Win 95 (98 U/G) machine with no problem. Any thoughts?
