You can also get online support if you are having problems with Windows Update.

What is the problem ? I tried installing IE 6.0 still no changes... so i stick to the ie 5.0

Quick fix - I had the same problem. Couldn't update windows - do online banking etc, hotmail... Caused because a virus has damaged some .dll that aren't starting.

Go to Dos (Start-Run-Command)
type: net start cryptvc
regsvr32 softpub.dll
regsvr32 wintrust.dll
regsvr32 initpki.dll
regsvr32 dssenh.dll
regsvr32 rsaenh.dll
regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll
regsvr32 sccbase.dll
regsvr32 slbcsp.dll
regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll

type exit to return to windows and boom it works.

Your security info is probably gone. to check - in IE click help then about - you should have a cipher strength of 128bit. If not Reinstall IE6 as custom not typical. Some items will be in bold - reselect them and it should ask you if you want to reinstall - click yes. this should take care of it
Also check the date on the PC this will have an affect also
