Some of the current browser Hijacks are modifying the hosts file so that may be it. A tool I highly recomend is "HiJackThis!" it will help you look for and remove some of these garbage files. The best place to download hijackthis is at

(be careful as this is a powerful tool that can do both good and evil)

I don't know about the sites you listed.

I do know that McAfee's site was just way too busy yesterday and this morning.

I was able to get to McAfee this afternoon.

Even Microsoft was running slow on downloads yesterday.

Give it another try. The traffic related to the Sasser worm has calmed down.

open the hosts file(c:/winnt/system32/drivers/etc/) using notepad in which u can see that all the antivirus sites are written with the ip of localhost.Delete all of them and save it..
select ur folder options and set them to see hidden files too.then search for files nav*32.exe.if u can find a file like navapxw32.exe then delete all those files and open registry using regedit in localmachine select software/microsoft/windows/ that select run and on the right hand side delete any entry with navapxw32.exe.
then go to mycomputer and then do drive clean up to remove all ur files in temp and temporary internet folders for all users.also change ur password such that it has a number.
forgot to tell for a file name testfile.delete it..
this all shud be done in safe mode..
restart ur computer and update ur virus defs and scan ur computer for safety.also do update ur windows.
good luck.

if u cannot do with Hijack This immediately, just remove any IP address entry on your hosts file and then change its attribute to read-only. This would not allow to edit by any trojans as of now. Then update your antivirus immediately and scan your whole system.
