Unable to open Drive C,D, E, F.....

By webfil ·
We are not able to access drives(c,d,e,f)
Whenever we double click drive letter/s it opens a dialog box which asks to choose a program from a list of programs to open the drive and then it opens the drive in the new window when we select internet explorer from the list of programs.

we want to know how this problem can be eliminated?

please help.

Thanks

Check File Associations

by 1bn0 In reply to Unable to open Drive C,D, ...

Open an Explorer or My Computer windows
Open Tools | Folder Options
Select the File Types tab
Check the settings for both
Folder and
File Folder
Sounds like one of them is messed up.

For the drive; open a cmdprompt (or Run) and type - "regsvr32 /i shell32.dll" (without the quotes)

Can you be more specific

by lyu In reply to Try this !!

I am experiencing the same issue with my Windows 2003 server Standard R2 edition. Can you be more specific on your method, i.e. how to search for all the files under the same name after you hit Ctrl F.

Thanks, Lorenzo

Start > Run > Regedit > ctrl F and search for and delete all the files under the same file name >
