UNABLE TO OPEN EXT. HD AND A NEW PROBLEM…

by jp_hez . Updated 18 years, 7 months ago

I installed an external hard drive last week and since the moment I transfered some files to it, it only opens by the shortcut I made on the desktop the first day. If I try accesing it from My Computer it ask me to choose the program I want to use to open it. That only happens with the external hard drive (E:), C: opens just fine. When I right click on E: the open option appears in some weird letters.
I already scanned it for viruses, ad ware and spy ware, even tried running a commandpromt (regsvr32 /i shell32.dll) I found on this web page from a guy with the same problem and nothing worked. I made another mistake by following the recommendation a guy made from going to Tools – Folder Options – File Types in the my computer window – and I changed a setting in the File Folder file type and now every time I open a folder, it opens in a new window. If someone speaks Spanish here it will be even better, help please!
