Unable To Print From My Own PC

By takashi_69 ·
Hi, My PC is running WinXP Pro (1GB Ram, Intel 03.0GHZ), I am unable to print From My Own PC that the printer is attached to. Strangely, I am able to print from My other PCs attached to the PC that is attached to the printer.

Yeah, we need more information to troubleshoot.

Go to the printers and faxes folder and double-click the printer icon. Delete any print jobs that have not printed yet. Sometimes it is necessary to reboot after deleting the jobs to clear them out.

Go back to printers and faxes, right-click the pritner icon and be sure that Use printer offline is NOT checked. If it is, click it to unpause the printing.

Funny that the other systems on the network have no problem with printing to it if the system it is attached to cannot find it.
I would think that permissions may have been set for the login being used.
Other places to look would be OS types. If the other OS's are different, maybe new drivers need to be loaded for the OS on the host system.
Please send more info to troubleshoot better.

I understand you have shared the printer properly on the other PC's, but have you mapped to the printer on the PC to which it is attached? I think it would be a mistake to assume the PC would just know it was there. Make sure it shows up on the available printers list when you select 'add printer'. Whether or not it shows up there will tell you (and us) a lot.

Good Luck!

Is it set as the default printer? Sometimes new PCs come with a non-physical printer already installed. When you install your new printer the "set as defaultt" option is missed during the install.

Install the print driver on your PC
