Unable to project my screen to a wireless display

    by ssaporito ·

    Tags:

I have a Lenovo m720q Tiny PC connected to a LCD TV setup as wireless display in a conference room at work. It is utilizing Assigned Access as a kiosk running the Connect App. Everything looks good and the display is discoverable on my Lenovo T480s laptop. But every time I try and connect the screen says connecting but it errors out with my laptop saying “Couldn’t connect to your device.” I have tried multiple laptops and they all get the same error.

    Troubleshooting I have tried:
Verified both my laptop and the kiosk support Miracast
I have updated both computers and they are fully patched Win 10 Pro 2004
    I have disabled the firewall
I have updated all the drivers
netstat shows that there is a connection initiated when I try and connect

    Please help, thanks.

      Try this

In reply to Unable to project my screen to a wireless display

Step 1: Getting your devices ready
Determine if your computer and wireless display support Miracast technology.
Check whether your computer supports Miracast
Make sure your computer supports Miracast before trying to project your screen.
If your computer came with Windows 10 pre-installed: It supports Miracast. Continue to the next section to make sure the wireless display supports Miracast.
If you upgraded your computer to Windows 10 from Windows 7 or earlier: In Windows, click the Action Center icon on the taskbar, and then click Connect.

      Step 2: Projecting your screen
When you have determined that both your computer and wireless display support Miracast, project your screen.
Make sure your computer is connected to a network and the display you want to connect to is turned on.
In Windows, click the Action Center icon on the taskbar, and then click Connect.
Wait while the computer searches for wireless display devices, and then select the wireless display you want from the search results.
Wait while Windows connects the display.
When the connection is complete, Windows shows the projection mode.
If you want to change this setting, select Change projection mode.
