Unable to resolve host

After installing Windows 98SE, my computer is no longer able to resolve internet addresses. Although I can connect to my ISP, so the problem is not modem related. But when I start my browser or attempt to connect with a website, I receive the message “Unable to resolve host”. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
