I have my original XP install CD — {I put the disk in the CD drive, E: — get to the prompt for Recovery Console — I choose C:windows, login and get the prompt c:\windows> I type in expand e:windows\i386\hal.dl_ c:\windows\systems32\hal.dll
but keep getting “unable to find file” messages.
Can anybody walk me through this?
