"Unable to see Internet Explorer's 5.0 i

By bmarek ·
I am trying to find the registry key and DWORD location for IE 5.0's browers internet option located under the Tools drop down menu? All of my 4.0 Workstation are locked out from that view. Any help would be appreciated. I did find a TecNet articleQ179221 for IE 4.0 but I'm unable to locate the key and DWORD as referenced in the article thinking it would work for IE 5.0
Thanks
Bob

I almost forget. Yesterday, I answer your question but I forgot telling you that there are 3 places to restrict the thing. All are done by registry.
- Restrict the current user: Key name: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions
- Restrict a specified user: Instead of looking the key in HKEY_CURRENT_USER you now look for it in HKEY_USERS. The follow path is the same.
- Resctrict by machine: Look in HKEY_CURRENT_MACHINE.

Give this once more try by checking all these three items.

Good luck,

Duong beo

Aside from that there's also:

HKLM\soft\policies\microsoft\windows\current version\internet settings

AN

There's a file called inet.cpl that needs to be deleted if you want to see these settings through tools\options.

thanks,
Mike

May be simple but are you using the same NT user as what you installed with? If not move it to the default profile. You may have some users by the reg keys unable to view. You can still create a shortcut to IExplorer if you can't come up with a quick solution.
