Unable to stay connected to Internet

I have an unusual problem. When I connect to AOL through my network at work(lan line)I do connect to AOL but after approx. 1 min. I get disconnected. Then right after that when I try to browse the internet using Internet Explorer. I'm unable to. But when I close out the I.E. and open it back up I can browse the internet. I tried re-loading AOL from scratch. Still not working. Aol in the past workied fine. I have had no problems. I did a virus scan, spyware scan. All seems okay. Not sure whats happening. Any help would be appreciated

It's possible that you can get to AOL's gateway page, but then after that, maybe your company has AOL blacklisted. Our company blacklists certain sites so they cannot be accessed. AOL is a hacker and spammer heaven because so many newbies are attracted to that site.

I would not be surprised if that's what is happening. I would ask your IT department if they have it blacklisted. If you are trying to get on it without IT knowing, you can bet that's the case.

After that, IE may fail because you tried to access that site. Closing it and re-opening it re-initializes it back to square one at your portal.
