unable to uninstall norton antivirus 2007

By harsh8434 ·
i was installing norton anti virus 2007 on my pc but during installation my pc rebooted because of power cut due to which it was not installed properly so it is not working.
my problem is that i m not able to uninstall or reinstall it from add or remove programs menu because its setup is not initialising due to an error.
is there any trick by which i can uninstall or repair it.
my os is win xp sp2

RNAV/NRT

Synmantec has a utility, which completely removes Norton antivirus. It used to be rnav.exe, now I think it's the NRT "Norton Removal Tool"

Norton Removal Tool

by kainerscomputers In reply to unable to uninstall norto ...

Hi,
Norton has a removal tool you can download from their site. Here is the URL that has the full instructions on how to remove it. http://service1.symantec.com/Support/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039
Before the removal tool came out I used to just go into the registry and remove all the keys that said either norton, or symantec in them then reboot and reinstall it again. This always worked for me but the removal tool is easier and better.
