Undeliverable messages after deleting users from AD/exchange

By mexininny ·
I have users who are getting undeliverable messages when accepting an
invitation.

These users were recently deleted (last week, Friday) from active directory and their mailboxes purged therefore they ARE in-fact undeliverable...

The question is why are they still included somehow on the mailing lists?

The group in which the invites are sent to is out of the GAL not from a local distribution group. (They do not APPEAR to be in the list)

Example of returned messages:

From: System Administrator
Sent: Monday, June 04, 2007 8:17 AM
To: Nicole DiMarco; Dora Rentas
Subject: Undeliverable: SUBJECT

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

Check Delegation

I've seen this happen when one of the valid recipients has a Delegate set up in Outlook that was deleted.
Check the Delegation settings froim Outlook of all the valid users in the group...chances are that one of the deleted users was a delegate for someone else. For some reason they are not removed from the delegate list, you must manually remove them.
