By srojas ·
Hi, I have installed an additional copy of windows XP. So everytime I boot up I have to pick between two WindowsXP installations. How do I get rid of one? I looked in Control Panel and there is no uninstall. Help!

Thank you for your help. I went ahead and re-installed it, deleting the partition and re-creating it!

If you know what you are doing you can edit the boot.ini file. You will need to remove the entry that either doesnt work or is unwanted.

If you are unsure of how to do this do a search on microsofts knowledge base.

Then it will no longer appear in the menu. Then you may need to remove the files from your system. Find the OS that is not in use (the one pointed to from the removed boot.ini file) and delete these files.

NOTE If done wrong you may totally destroy your useable operating system. If you have any doubts about this, leave it alone, it's not hurting the system.
