Uninstalling IE 6

When i try to uninstall IE6 the revert to previous version is greyed out. Is there another way to uninstall IE as it is corrupted beyond repair (example: no matter what setting I try IE will not open pics or images and get continuously cannot find page errors) I am presently using Mozilla but a lot of sites do not recognize it.
