Uninstalling Vista – not as easy as I thought it would be

by vishal.kondwilkar . Updated 18 years, 6 months ago

I bought two laptops a ACER 5610 (with XP) and a Lenovo (with Vista, which also came with a vista CD). I upgraded the ACER XP to vista hoping that after the initial 30 days i will just revert back to XP. But then I realised that Vista is no good. I was hoping that the uninstall will be easy but i was wrong. Vista does not let you format the drive which has windows installed. I tried booting up with a XP CD but vista does not let the CD run. By that time i was able to run vista in limited functionality mode and then run a crack which restricts the activation clock in the first 30 days. So now I have a fully functional Vista for unlimited period but I hate it and I want to go back to XP. I read somewhere that to uninstall vista i will have to boot up with windows 98 and then upgrade to XP, which i tried but still failed.
I dont have the XP boot CD is there a way to uninstall vista?
