Unknown item on my desktop

By res7ip3s ·
Help, after installing Norton SystemWorks on my computer and then setting up Outlook Express I encountered a desktop item that looks like a Windows logo on a sheet of paper. When I right click it and check properties it shows 172kbs, says MS-Dos name ~ and that is all. What is this and how can it be fixed.

PC MAgazine talks about this as an unfixed error in OE:
http://tinyurl.com/v00h
They think it's a backup of the address book.
They suggest testing this by moving the file to the location of your other address book (myname.WAB). Rename it Old.WAB. Double click on it to see what appears.

I don't know but I too Have had similar experiences and what I do is check the proporties and if I can't get clues from there I delete them without opening them or just leave them alone.
