I have a data file that I cannot repair in Access97. When I run a report on it from the system file I get the report in design view and a message that says “The MS Jet Database engine has shut done because you and another user are attempting to change data at the same time” and then the report opens in design view. I have one database file that holds the data in tables. I have another database file that has links to the tables in the data file and contains all of the queries and reports that are run on the data.
I need to know what could have caused this and how I can fix it without destroying any data. I have tried repair and it just says that “Unrecognized database format ‘file path’. File path being the correct path to the file I am trying to repair.
