Unreliable XMS Memory errors Help!!!

By bklynginsburg ·
When I boot my Windows 98 system it tells me that there is an unreliable XMS memory at address 0080002. I have tried to reload all the files and still it won't work.I have reinstalled sys, config.sys, xmsmmgr.exe etc. No luck. I also get info sayingthat config.sys is corrupt and files like VPD, VCD, NTKERN, EBIOS etc are not there. But they are listed in the config.sys file. What is going on. I have tried to run win98 startup but I don't have the Key anymore. Help! Please!

Rename autoexec.bat and config.sys to autoexec.old and config.old.

If that doesn't work, it could be bad SIMMS. Reseat or replace the SIMMS
