Unscheduled calls in an W98 Network

By amatiz ·
I need to find an utility or some way to find what is causing unscheduled calls in a network with 2 pc?s and a Cisco 76x router. The router is calling to a remote station without apparent reason (the pc?s are left on at night). I have the same settings on another locations with the same equipment and the router doesn?t call. What can be causing this?

Press alt-ctrl-del and look at what programs are running. It's possible that you have some "spyware" on your system that is phoning home to report. If you see programs that you do not recognize, search your registry to see if you can figure out whatit is by the key that it is contained within. Also, you can go to www.grc.com and download a small utility that will check your system for known spyware. All of this is assuming that your system isn't just setup to check for mail (etc) at certain intervals.

Hi Don,
I?ve already tried this and didn?t work. It seems more like a problem with TCP/IP Packets than software.
