Its actually a 2 part Question;
#1: Why are network shares showing up on each computer, even though they were not mapped or accessed?? I set up a machine to see the secondary HD’s on the network (peer to peer). Later, when I come back I see that other shortcuts have been added by XP to the tree. The user says they did not add them and then, some of them are NG shares without permissions even though I have set up the HD for sharing.
#2 Follows this problem…..I have the 2nd HD shared over the network, it is accessable after I set it up, then later on SOME of the machines are denied access to folders (not the entire drive) on the shared drive.
Windows XP has its advantages but the amount of hair pulling and knashing of teeth using this OS on a peer to peer is driving me to ……..??????
