During installation of a windows 2000 professional stand-alone computer, i mistakenly chose the "always assume the following user logs on" option. When the system starts booting, i am not given the option of username and password.I deleted that user and recreated another user, but while booting the system will still attempt logging on with the old username before displaying an error message prompting me for a correct username and password. How do i prevent this error message from appearing?

Have you tried changing this in the Control Panel?
Although I am not familiar with Win 2k (still stuck with Neanderthal Technology), you should be able to fix this in either the Passwords or Users applets.
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
