Unwanted Final Signals on Touchpad

By howard.schwartz ·
Apparently the touchpad on my Dell XPS M1210 (as well as on the previous model, Dell 710M) responds to finger signals in Outlook and Word (and probably other programs). If I accidently touch my thumbs in Outlook, the message is sent. If this happens in Word 2003, the page is minimized. Does anyone know a way to turn off these unwanted finger/thumb signals?

There is also a control on the NB that will allow you to turn down the sensitive of the touch pad and stop this from happening. However it will also impact on how fast the cursor moves when you try to move it but if it is impractical to use a USB Mouse this is your only alternative.

With Touch Pads double hitting the touch pad will launch or execute whatever application is currently waiting in the Que.

I did turn down the sensitivity of the touch pad and that did the trick. I would never have thought of this. Thanks!
