Unwanted Mail Relay can't track it down

A couple of weeks ago, I started receiving messages from my system stating the following: (incoming mail)
The following recipients did not receive the attached mail. Reasons are listed with each recipient:

<mailrelay%ort-r01.mx.aol.com@exchangesrvr.domain.wa.gov> mailrelay%ort-r01.mx.aol.com@exchangesrvr.domain.wa.gov
MSEXCH:IMS:WA.GOV:domain:exchangesrvr 0 (000C05A6) Unknown Recipient

The message that caused this notification was:

I always receive with this one an outgoing messagestating:

A mail message could not be sent because the following host is unknown:

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

I changed some of the info for security purposes, but cannot track where this is coming from and how to get rid of it. Any ideas out there?

You don't identify your mail system so it's hard to get specific. It should be set to reject mail from the specific host in the "From" line. Hopefully your system also permits relay and domain filtering.

I realize from a poster that I forgot to mention the system. This is an Exchange 5.5 server with SP4 running on an NT 4.0 SP6 member server.

It looks like a return receipt. Look up the unknown host in DNS, it's probably a mail server. It substitutes its name for the recipients. I occasionally see the same thing. If you turn off the Outlook receipt function it should go away.
