I have a problem with running Windows Millennium Edition and win98_se. The problem with win98_se is that I cannot install the audio correctly in this. I have a Soltek SL 65DV ATX p3 motherboard with Intel Celeron 466MhZ processor. The way that I have tried to install the audio is to go to Add/Remove hardware and select the device from the list and install the driver for it which is from the Soltek Mainboard installation CD under the Driver/Audio/VIA AC97/Win98se.
The problem occurs during installation I am prompted for the win98se CD and, of course the file that it seeks cannot be found on this CD.
The other ways I have attempted to install the audio driver is to go into control panel, then system and go to Device Manager and select the highlighted device that is not correctly installed, remove that device then click refresh and install the driver as prompted.
I have used win98se before I upgraded to Windows Millennium Edition. I have also successfully installed the audio in win98se prior to this, but now I cannot. I would like to know how to correct this problem.
I have contacted Tech support for this mainboard, but so far they have offered no successful assistance.
