What's the best way?

by hhambrick In reply to Updating SQL Server table ...

<p>The blog introduction basically states the problem.  I have not been doing SQL very long and all my knowledge is OJT.  We use SQL Server 2000 at all the sites.  Now I just have to try to figure out a way to update a customers database with all the changes that we have made in-house.  The addition of new tables isn't a problem for me.  I wrote a VB app that will let me choose tables and new fields, then will generate a SQL script for me to execute on the customers SQL to add the new tables.  Would love to have this work more automatically, but the problem is changes made to the existing columns of the table. Sizes, data type and allow nulls.</p>
<p>Anyone have any suggestions or tools that would help with this task?</p>
