Upgrade from Windows ME

By frostyptr ·
When trying to upgrade my PC from WinME to 2000 Pro, i receive the following error:

The option to upgrade will not be available at this time because Setup was unable to load the file C:\WINDOWS\UpgDlls\w95upg.dll\WIN9XUPG\W95UPG.DLL
The system cannot find the file specified.

Has anyone run across this error and if so, how was it corrected?

Thanks in advance

Sounds like there is some sort of problem
copying this DLL from the CD. I want to blame
disk space on the hard disk first, faulty
install media second.

Here is a link in the knowledge base that
might help you as well, it turns on logging
of the install and you can use the
post-mortem to find a cause

Windows ME is not a supported upgrade path. Check out

http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/upgrade/path/default.asp

You can upgrade Windows 95 and 98 but to my knowledge Millenium is not an option. Sure would be interested if someone has come across an update that allows it though.
