upgrade to Windows 2000(Win2K)

By walter ·
I am trying to upgrade to Win2K on two computers. One has Win98 and the other has WinNT.
My question is "How do I turn off the compatibitly mode when installing Win2K?" There are a couple of hardware/software profiles on the two computers that cannot be uninstalled or updated. Win2K always stops installation when I get to the compatiblity check for the hardware/software applications.

Thanks in advance for your assistance

Run checkupgrade from the windows 2000 cd or down load it from ms website.
Run checkupgrade32 on your computer on bolth hard ware profiles.

If all els fales format the hard drive perform a clean instll, just make sure to get all neccary drivers you need
Save them to a floppy and load them when ask for
or write and unatened text file and include them in that.

I am A+, MCP windows 2000 certified.

Up 2 K

I recently upgraded from 98 to 2K. I agree that you should run checkupgrade, and heed compatibility report. It's much easier to deinstall apps which you can then reinstall, than trying to work around. Although it took some time to get all the newdrivers I needed, it was well worth the time.
