I have users that were originally using MS Word Perfect 5.1 for DOS not too long ago. Since I have been here, MIS has directed my upgrading them to Novell Word Perfect 6, MS Office 4.3, 97; Outlook 98 and 2000 and now I have a few users that are getting the new standard PC image that comes with Windows 2000 Professional Workstation (they were on Windows 98se) and Office XP. Some documents that I remember had to be slightly reformatted after the previous upgrades are still being used and have yet again lost some of the formatting (lines being lost, columns not lining up, etc.). How do I ease the transition to this newer version for my users? Why is formatting lost when Word XP is set to Word 97 compatibility and don’t use features after Word 97? Previous mail merge documents are not retaining their label formatting either.
