4 - I am fairly certain that you will need to upgrade to Norton 2K, and re-install your dat files.
2 - Similar to #4, you will need to pick up a W2K version of the CD Writer. Roxio (ex. Adaptec) CD Creator Platinum v5 works just fine in W2K, as do several other products.
1 - Is your proxy MS Proxy on an NT4 Server? Is that server a member of an NT domain or Workgroup? Does your user ID on the W2K box log into that same domain or workgroup? It needs to. You can also configure your MS Proxy to pop up a "please log in" dialogue.
3 - Sorry, happily I know nothing about "winpopup". (3 out 4 ain't too bad)

You need to be a little more specific. Are you on a network? Is this at work or at home? Did you install your CD software and it doesnt work? Or does the CD-rom not work? If the CD software doesnt work, you need specific ASPI drivers for Win2000. Let me know.

verify your id on the proxy server.
you may have to remove it and add it again (the sid may be different), also you may uninstall and reinstall the proxy client.

w2k doesnt have winpopup, they have the "net send " command in a dosprompt.
However I am pretty sure if you want to use winpopup you can just copy the winpopup.exe from a win9x pc to the w2k pc.

the previous answers are ok.
except the list of MS I go to www.ntcompatible.com to check if a software is w2k comptible.

One more thing to check with the cd-burner... I know some older hp burners need a firmware upgrade to work under win2k, however you cannot upgrade it under win2k. you have to upgrade the firmware under dos or win9X then install into win2k machine. HP Site has good info.

Chuck
