Upgraded to Win2K, now cdrom is missing?

by millhouselives . Updated 25 years, 2 months ago

After upgrading to win2k, the LITE)N485s ide cdrom that is original equipment in an IBM 300gl computer is not listed as a drive at all. bios see it, and the device mgr, also sees it, but reports that it cannot load device driver (code31)have looked this up and did what was suggested, updated driver, etc. reboot, still no cdrom. There is no cdrom device listed in services but I am fairly new to win2k and do not see a way to add cdrom as a device. I know on nt4.0 I could do that and select boot startup for device etc. and device would be found. Could use some help. Thank You?
