Upgrading BIOS – HP Pavilion w/Win 2000?

I have a Hewlett Packard Pavilion 9600c running Windows 2000 and I need to upgrade the BIOS to a new version. I went to the HP website and downloaded the update but it has to be run from DOS and the MSDOS prompt will not run the update correctly. Isthere a way that I can boot the machine into DOS and run the update there? I have Win 2000 installed with the NTFS option. Here is a link to the website for the download if that would help.
